General Statement of Duties: Responsible supervising participants at the Montrose Community Rec. Center (CRC) climbing wall. Primary duties include safe daily preparation, maintenance, customer service and cleaning for the Indoor Climbing Wall.
Supervision Received: Reports directly to the Facility Leader, Manager on Duty, and Facility Coordinator.
Essential Duties:
The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be requested or required.
- Responsible for explaining and enforcing safety rules and facility regulations.
- Ensures a safe, but fun rock climbing environment for all users of the facility.
- Primarily responsible for executing Belay Certifications, Climbing Wall Orientations, and supervision for special interest group rentals held at climbing wall.
- Attendants may be in training to set routes and training to assist in classes.
- Maintain the wall and make sure the holds are secure and clean and keep the climbing belays clean.
- This is a safety-sensitive position exercising a high degree of discretion, trust, and confidence to properly execute duties efficiently.
- Be able to work with children and adults and create an environment that is fun, safe, and open so that people will want to return
- Must properly fit participants in harnesses ie. Double-back leg loops, waist buckles, and properly fit full-body harnesses for children.
- Keep an eye on the game room area and keep problems to a minimum.
Position Qualifications:
License and Certification: CPR/First Aid Certification, preferred.
Work Environment: Busy Rec Center environment with extensive public contact. Hours vary according to schedule, with evening and weekend shifts.

Compensation: $15.90 - $17.44 per hour
