Position Summary
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator and/or Recreation Leader, the Scorekeeper is responsible for accurately tracking game scores, fouls, time, and other essential game details for leagues and tournament play. This position helps ensure smooth game operations, clear communication, and a safe and positive environment for players, officials, and spectators. Scorekeepers must understand the basic rules of the applicable sport and maintain fairness, accuracy, and professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Maintain accurate and timely tracking of points, fouls, and game time.
- Understand basic rules and regulations for the sport being scored.
- Ensure a professional and positive atmosphere for participants, officials, and spectators.
- Communicate clearly with Sports Officials, Facility Supervisors, and Program Coordinators regarding any questions or issues.
- Attend required training.
- Provide basic first aid if necessary
Position Qualifications
- Must be at least 14 years of age.
- Experience playing or basic knowledge of various sports rules, preferred but not required.
- Training will be provided to those without experience.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The employee may be required to stand or sit for extended periods, talk, hear, read, and write.
- May need to reach, stoop, crouch, or kneel periodically.
- May be asked to lift/carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Compensation: $15.39 - $15.90 per hour
