**Looking to hire 5 Summer Enrichment Program Assistant I's. This position will be posted until until April 11th, 2025 with interviews scheduled and conducted mid-April. An expected start date of May 10th,2025.**
Position Summary
Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading and planning the Summer Adventure Program for 6-10-year-olds and/or Club 1114 for 11-14-year-olds. The Summer Adventure Program consists of two (2) four (4) week sessions running from June to early August.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following are examples of primary duties assigned to this position. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Develops and coordinate engaging activities for the Summer Adventure Program, ensuring students participate safely and actively in a diverse range of enrichment experiences.
- Implements activities focused on physical, educational, cognitive, and social enrichment for participants aged 6 to 14.
- Supervise and manage participant behavior during the program.
- Assists the Site Leader in monitoring and leading the Summer Enrichment Program Assistant I.
- Communicating with parents about program activities and schedules.
- Tracks participant attendance.
- Ensures the safety of participants and staff and completes accident/incident reports when necessary.
- Exercise authority in problematic situations with children; utilizing guidance and disciplinary procedures as directed by the Site Leader.
- Participates in the planning and implementation of activities for program participants.
- May be required to transport participants from schools to program site via MRD vehicles (18+).
- Participates in staff meetings and training as needed or required.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of experience leading group activities with children ages 6 to 14 in elementary education or childcare settings.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Certifications:
- The possession of or ability to obtain CPR/First Aide Certification.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The Summer Adventure Program takes place at one of the Montrose County School District buildings.
- Program hours are from 12 pm - 5 pm Monday through Friday with this position expected to work 2-3days/week.
- Primary functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. This position will require moderate lifting, and heavy lifting on occasion, and working indoors and in outdoor weather conditions, on occasion.
Compensation and Benefits
- After School Program Assistant 1 Wage Range: $16.50-18/hour
- Free Membership to the Community Rec Center for duration of employment.
Compensation: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
